Port Hole Cafe & Gift Shop
The Port Hole Cafe & Gift Shop was opened in May of 1997 to complement the main museum area and help provide a revenue stream for operations. As a community owned museum and non-profit we rely on earned revenue , fundraising and donations to operate. Since its opening it has become a favorite stopping place for both tourists and locals. The view from the Cafe changes as the tidal river flows in and out. This cozy maritime Cafe is a great place to have a refreshing drink or a light lunch made from the finest baking the Parrsboro Shore has to offer. Favorite choices are our fresh homemade chowder or the fresh lobster rolls. A great place to have a bite watch the tidal river roll in and out and just relax.
The Gift Shop has been expanded on the front of the building and is filled with items specific to the Age of Sail Heritage Centre, many crafted by local artisans. Items include art work, books and t-shirts, toys and maritime themed items. Due to our charitable status we do not charge tax on any of our items.
We are proud to announce, in recognition of our 25th anniversary, our very own Registered Scottish Tartan! We have scarves, blankets, and more at great prices and you can only buy it here!
Open daily during the summer, the cafe and gift shop is staffed by local volunteers and students knowledgeable about local history and other points of interest.
